Contributions for publication in the IDS Yearbook are invited on any topic of interest to dendrologists and should be submitted to the Editor at Enable JavaScript to view protected content..
Submissions should be made in a form agreed with the Editor. The principal language of the Yearbook is English, although contributions in other languages may be considered. It is a condition of acceptance that contributions are the original work of the author(s) and have not previously been published.
The Editor reserves the right to refuse any contribution and to make textual changes without reference to the author. The Editor may refer manuscripts to members of the IDS Science and Education Committee or independent referees before acceptance. Specific guidance on writing reports is given by the Editor at the time of commissioning.
Illustrations and permissions Illustrations and artwork are welcome, and should be the work of the author unless otherwise stated. Illustrations from publications by others may not be used without agreement from the copyright holder, and if artwork has previously been used elsewhere it is the responsibility of the author to obtain any permission needed to reprint. Published maps may not be reproduced, although sketch maps are acceptable.
Copyright Copyright in articles as they appear in the Yearbook belongs to the International Dendrology Society. Copyright in texts, photographs and illustrations belongs to individual authors and photographers. Permission to reproduce articles (in part or whole) for other publications should be obtained from the IDS, the author, photographer or artist, and must include a credit line indicating the IDS as the source of the material. All contributors submitting work thereby release their contribution for publication under the above terms. All contributors, by submitting material, unconditionally release their work for non-exclusive print publication, web publication (see below), subsequent republication, or other non-commercial use by the IDS.
Internet Access Articles may be posted freely on the internet by their author six months after publication in the Yearbook, or immediately if publication is on a website with password-protected access for members.
