Candidates for membership do not need to possess professional or scientific qualifications in horticulture, but should have a serious interest in plants, particularly shrubs and trees. Candidates should be proposed by a member of the Society resident in their country of domicile (but not a direct family member) and, where possible, the application should be supported by the appropriate Vice President. If there is no Vice President for that country, the application is signed by the Chairman.

Please complete the appropriate on-line form below, by clicking on the application form below the type of membership you think you would like to apply for. (You can always add an Associate, or move to Life at a later date by contacting the office).
By including the name of your supporting member in the application form we will ensure their proposal is confirmed.
The IDS Office will then add the candidate to the list for election by the Membership Committee, which admits members on a regular basis every month or two.
Sponsoring Members: Please note, if you are already a member of the Society you will NOT be able to open an application form. If you feel it is essential to have a written form please contact the office, but note that new members MUST provide an email address.
